Set 960T to unlock cores and put voltage to 1.35V and I get 60C temp in BIOS?

Thread Starter
So this processor is running at stock 3.0Ghz and is reaching 60C JUST IN THE BIOS. Before I unlocked the extra cores it was 35C in the BIOS. I've got an after market cooler so I don't understand why my idle temperature would be so high. I'm worried if I game or something the temperatures may get too high, any suggestions?

My voltages are as such:
CPU 1.35
CPU-NB 1.35
DRAM 1.5
NB 1.1

Did you apply your thermal paste correctly?
What are your load temps with 4 cores?

I'm thinking the MSI bios I'm using might actually put the CPU under load so I can see how high it gets without even starting windows because my temperatures went down in windows. Will keep you posted

Yup something wrong with the BIOS I guess. Getting 29C idle X6 overclocked to 3.8ghz, but it was getting up to 80C in the BIOS and caused my computer to shut down

what are your final settings, ive got same processor that i know unlocks, but decided to run at x4 3.8ghz. with like 15c of cooling headroom with a v8 cooler. so id like to see what it does at x6.

only reason i switched is because fallout 3 doesnt like my 6 core when it was activated.

I kept the FSB at 200 so the multiplier is 19. My HT is at 2000, and north bridge at 2.6Ghz

Note: I tried to stress test this with prime95 and it crashed within a minute, so it isn't stable in that effect but I haven't crashed while playing games. But I've heard people can't even get it prime95 stable at stock settings with the unlocked cores.

I haven't done a BIOS update before and from what I've read people are saying don't fix it if it isn't broken and that a screw up while updating the BIOS would ruin my entire motherboard. Any way to overcome that?
