What's the wackiest thing you did to lower you CPU/GPU (components) temps?

I'm now just wanting to see how low can the temps go on my 2500k, and it's now idleing @ 25 degrees Celsius, turned off any cpu "intensive" program, even slowed down the polling rate on Core Temp (Yeah it's stupid) and priority and set it's affinity for the last core only. It's november, haven't turned on any heating system, it isn't exactly chilling, but it's kinda cold in here. Mind you this is just on stock intel cooler, and I'm even thinking of putting my casa close to AC and turning it on to 17 degrees cooling, just to have a crack at it. Not doing any real overclocking, but if I did I'd try the AC thing. XD
Not the first time I enjoyed seeing temps on a component drop bellow "X" setting.

Anyways... what's the wackiest, most memorable thing really you did to reduce you component temps, I'm just curious, hopefully we see some interesting ones.

P.S. In my town we have no CPU Coolers on offer, none... neither to order, and ordering online is not possible for me because of "X" (too much text) reasons.

I've got my 3770k downclocked to 3.0GHz. When gaming, it's much quiter and cooler (WC), and I've run tests that show that load % does correspond to Ghz. For example:
4.5Ghz i7 BF3: ~35% load max
2.5Ghz i7 BF3: ~65% load max
This was done on a metro 64 meatgrinder server.

Cut the hexagon grill mesh from the front of my antec 300's front fan intakes. Also I mounted the 2nd front fan INSIDE the case, held up by 3 sticks sanded to correct size to fit the screw holes tightly, and facing the fan about 3 cm from my gtx 470.

I replaced my TIM with cheese. biggrin.gif

On the real though I once tried to do a cheap LN2/DICE set up with Ice when I first experimented with alternate cooling a couple years back. Needless to say it did not turn out as expected.

Had a little dual-core Atom mini PC that was around 55C idle CPU and GPU with the ambient temperature in the room near 55 F, so eventually I got sick of it, used a hole saw and drilled a 120mm hole in the side of the case (almost the entire case), and mounted a 120mm USB-powered fan to it.

It fought back though. The hole saw snagged, and ripped the case out of my fingers, giving me a nice big ol' scar on my thumb.

When I woke up the next morning, the idle temps were a whopping 9°C.

On my old FX51 rig, during the winter months in order to get the CPU (and X800XT PE) temps down, I would take off both case panels and put a box fan in the windows (open) with the case sitting in the window, getting 10F air blown across the entire MB side and out through the rear of the MB panel.

I could get to 2600+MHZ on the CPU and 630core/660mem on GPU with load temps of around 28-33C.
