ive found a few used i5 2400 and they're very well priced. I can't believe I'm gonna upgrade from an old am2+ system to a new h61 i5 2400 sandy bridge processor and I'm just gonna spend about 15 bucks (I'm also gonna sell my megahalems btw) thumb.gif I love used parts. my gtx 670 is gonna love that new cpu!

I went from my Q9400 + EP45-UD3P and 6GB DDR2 to a 3570k + 16GB DDR3 Samsung Eco + Z77x-D3H for pretty much $80.

EDIT: The DDR2 sold for $99 and I got my 16GB here shipped for $100.. The board sold on here for $100 (shipped) and the CPU went for $135. I also made a bit of profit off one person buying the CPU and a RAM kit with bundled shipping, I also sold a 24 port 100mbps switch that week too for $75 that I got for free. thumb.gif

That's a great upgrade and your 670 will definitely love that i5 2400. At stock speeds, it will already outperform a 4ghz PII for most applications. biggrin.gif

It will EASILY outdo a 4GHz Phenom II and have better performance per core and use less power and generate less heat. Shame you aren't getting a P67/Z68/Z77 board because you can boost the multiplier 2x if you have one.

I know, I'm just noting that they're not completely "locked". I find that the lower end boards lack a lot of useful features and aren't anywhere near the quality of the higher boards obviously. I guess I've been rather spoilt with mid range boards for my life tongue.gif
