1st computer ever. Are these components enough to play every game at 200+ fps

Thread Starter
CPU: 3930K
Mobo: Either an Asus Rampage IV Extreme or an Asrock X79 Extreme11.
RAM: Probably some Corsair Dominators.
HDD: a Samsung 840 Pro 128 or 256, then a 1 or 2tb drive for storage.
GPU: Either a MSI GTX 680 Lightning (or three) or if you want to venture into the world of overclocking, an Asus 7970 DCUII TOP (or three).
PSU: a good Corsair or similar 900-1000w.

will this give me the most flawless gaming experience known to mankind (and even alien kind?)

You cannot play EVERY game at 200+ FPS and it is pointless to even do so. Your eyes stop seeing a difference after 60FPS. You can play 95% of the games out there completely maxed out with that setup.

the 680 and 7970 both overclock really well, though personally in this round I would go with nvidia (I swap between teams so no loyalty here). A single 680 or 7970 can play every game on the market practically maxed out at 1080p, though there are some exceptions (BF3, The Witcher 2, Metro 2033, all max settings).

rolleyes.gif ignore any comments about "the human eye not seeing beyond (x) amount of frames... its all subjectional to what YOU notice the difference in.

Now, what i would like to know is exactly why you want beyond 200FPS? Most monitors only display 60 FPS max, some at 120.
I think there are a very few out there that display 240.

And to answer your question, yes you should be able to acheive your goal (with 1920x1080 resolution and with most modern properly coded games at least) with the setup you described

Well third and last. I wanted to get information about it all, then double check the information. I don't really know any of the online codes of conduct as I have been playing Console for my whole life (grew up quite poor and saved every bit of money for gaming)
