Computer wont see SSD in ACHI mode, only in ide mode.

i even tried to plug the drive into my external drive on my other pc and windows wont see it either. Im gonna try to load win from my pc to this drive to see if its a bad ssd

I actually cant find many drivers either, it is used to be a .inf file but i havent done it since windows xp.

Also why dont you try updating the drives firmware. one of the updates improves support for legacy chipsets.

And ive never used AMD i used the intel driver chipset.

You could try this. AMD SATA AHCI Driver (Preinstall driver, press F6 during Windows* setup to read from floppy)

You will have to extract it i think to a usb/floppy. And then once you have done that try and load the driver

Just make sure you format your usb drive to FAT32 before you save the driver on it,or it wont read.

Step 1 down load the achi and raid drivers for your mother board. (pre install drivers).
Sterp 2 put drivers on removeable media, ie cd/dvd/usb
Step 3 Go to install Windows 7, but select repiar. here will give you the option to Select load drivers, select the 32bit driver.
Once they install back out till you have the option to install os.
Go through the steps as normal and select 64 bit drivers when you have the option to load drivers. finish installing windows.

yes it is. But i broke it out into steps. Also AMD 64 bit drivers can be a pain in the arse. the steps above is the only way i could get my raided SSd to work correctly. If i skipped the step of install the 32 bit in repair mode, and just went straight to installing the os. It would not detect the Hd's and also reported the 64 bit drivers was not there.
