Computer shuts down and freezes up. Thoughts?

This all started maybe a month ago and is becomign more frequent. Looking for some ideas. Below is what is going on.

Symptoms:
Computer will freeze and keyboard/mouse will be unresponsive. Needs a hard reboot and starts fine.
Computer just powers down.

When:
Power off has only happened a few times when playing BF:BC2
Freezing has happened when playing games and when just doing random internet browsing.

Seems to happen more frequently when I am playing games.

What I have done/checked.

Reinstalled windows 7-No change
Checked all internal/external connection -No change
I have logged and checked CPU/GPU tems and nothing seems excessive. CPU cores are in the high 40's when gaming and mid 50's after a half hour of P95. GPU is in the 60's when gaming and have ran furmark for 20 minutes and it got into the 80's and fan is scaling properly.

Any ideas? thanks

If its not an overheating issue then it could be a power supply issue.

Is there software to test a power supply or is it just a voltmeter on the outputs?

For reference the power supply is from either 2008 or 09.

The only real way to test is to swap it with another and run it for awhile and see if the problem still occurs.

Ah I think you may have identified. the issue. I opened the case up again to check all the PSU connection and obe of the GPU connections felt loose. I think the case door pulled on it when I slid it back on. I was more careful putting it back on this time and it hasn't happened since.
