Thermal Pads

Refurbishing my GTX 470's, but i'm struggling to find thermal pads / gap fillers. I managed to find this, I just need to know if its the right stuff or if it will work just the same.

I don't understand how the W/mk conductivity works and what I need.
Just need some technical advice, thanks.

If you're in south africa, as your profile states, I'm not really sure what will be available to you in terms of shipping and/or local stores.


That said, check out frozencpu.com. They have a great selection of thermal pads. I'd personally suggest the "fujipoly premium pads" Anything more expensive is pure overkill.

FYI, a typical high-end thermal paste ranges from 4.5-10 w/mk (at least, that's what the manufacturers rate them for. I somewhat doubt the higher claims, but whatever).

Pads are almost exclusively used on components that don't really get "that" hot to begin with, so the rated 6w/mk of the premium fujipoly is excellent for a pad. Realistically you could probably afford to go as low as 1.5 or so as long as you're not using it for the GPU processor chip itself.
