Need to upgrade to a new netbook, not sure what to look for NEWBIE

Hi,

I have a notebook that I bought about a year and a half ago mainly for word processing type activates since I am a freelance writer. I knew it would be slow to begin with, but the lack of speed is starting to get too much.
For instance, switching between browser, Word and Excel windows there are pauses. Or if I need to open up a new Word or Excel file then it can take around 10 seconds to do so. This constant lag reduces the speed of my ability to work.

So I need to upgrade but don't know exactly what it is about my current netbook that is making it so slow, I'm guessing it's the 1GB ram, anyway here are the stats of my current one:

Basically I need a 10.1 netbook that can carry out simple tasks such as shutting/opening/switching between different files and broswing the internet without delay. What hardware requirements should I look out for?

Thanks

Not sure how well netbooks are doing lately and most of them will run around the same preformance. You interested in looking into larger laptops?

Perhaps look into upgrading the HDD to a SSD + and double up on the RAM?
Windows 7 on 1GB of ram + a 5200rpm HDD drive is not a pleasant experience when your multitasking to any degree. Just upgrading to 2GB should help a good bit.

I would prefer to stick to 10.1 to 11.6 size, when working long hours less strain on the eyes I think and those are usually quieter than the bigger sizes.

What about getting this one, do you think it will make much of a difference? is it worth it as an upgrade?
