Core i7 3820

Thread Starter
I am considering downgrading. I purchased $500 worth of motherboard/CPU and..well...I don't fully utilize it. I basically bought into X79 because it will support a future platform and supports PCI-Express 3.0 - but I am thinking of going w/ an FM2 system - since it too will support a future platform and potentially support PCI-E 3.0.

Anyways - I need an appraisal for my Core i7 3820. It's less than 2 months old and overclocked to 4.56GHz @ 1.328v stable on my ASrock Extreme4-M.

Anyone else? This chip hasn't been used much. In fact it's only been used for about 1 month out of the 2 months i've had it - hence why I am selling it. Will ship w/ original box.

I would say Microcenter prices are irrelevant since people actually have to live near one to get one at that price. They're 299.99 anywhere online.

Not irrelevant at all, microcenters are near big cities and therefore if you want a cheap processor you will go there.

If you live in the middle of nowhere thats a different story.

I'd say around 240-250 to someone who doesn't have a microcenter near them

I'm not repeating my thread - this is an appraisal and that's an opinion thread. Microcenter is irrelevant in this case - you can only get those deals if you're lucky enough to live near one.
