550w PSU advice

Thread Starter
for a 550 watt PSU, what would be better from these three
1. Super Flower 550w Golden King/Kingwin Lazer Platinum 550
2. Super Flower 550w Golden Green/Kingwin Lazer Gold 550?
3. Seasonic G 550

I'm planning on upgrading to a i5 3470 and I'll never use dual graphic cards.
Are there any better ones apart from the ones above?
Is it ok to use a simulated sine wave UPS with any these power supplies?

Here's a nice list of good ones: http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/psu_recommendations

I trust Corsair, Seasonic, Silverstone and Antec. Also, at such low wattage, do you really need Gold/Platinum rated PSUs?

The seasonic one is a good power supply.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Seasonic/G550/11.html

If you are buying from an online retailer can you provide a link where we can make other recommendations.

You ranked them coincidentally in order of quality, and the Seasonic G Series is still very good. In that wattage range, there's not really much better. Seasonic X Series and the new Platinums would fall around the 1-2 range, possibly slightly higher for the Platinum models.

Still, it would be good to see a list of what is available.

none of those come even close to the one's he mentioned they are far far behind even the worst of what he's mentioned

the golden king is currently the best of the best in its class anywhere

the golden greens are an excellent choice as well the G series are also good but expect to pay a premium for the name over the golden green's which personally doesn't make it worth buying
