I've got the browns edition of this board, excellent keyboard.

Build quality is great and the keycaps/backlighting are impressive.

I've been eyeing it for a long time but at 129.99 and the trigger at 50 less i think there is no contest...indifferent of the keys selection

It was worth it to me. Back lit keys, USB 3.0, headphone connection, MX Reds, tank like built, etc. But at $50 the CM is a steal.

Degree, does the trigger need a power supply or does everything work off of the connected USB? A couple of the reviews mention it but others don't and I can't seem to find a clear answer.

For people new to mechanical keyboards, blacks may sound great on paper but they sure do require a lot of force. Mine murders my fingers playing BF3, especially using my little finger to hold shift to run.

No it does not require a power and supply, it works from the USB.
The power supply is just for adding more power to the keyboard, like there's another higher level of LED brightness and for using the USB ports on the keyboard for more power-needy USB power'd things. Like I can't use my external HDD from the keyboard because it didn't have enough power, but I can use it to charge my samsung s3

I've heard a lot of people say this, but I've been using black switches for well over a year now and my fingers have never felt tired. This was one of my concerns before I made the purchase, but I haven't encountered that problem.

MX Blacks are not significantly louder, and they are definitely not known as a particularly clicky mechanical switch. Your'e probably thinking of MX Blues.
