What would be a worthy CPU upgrade!? - Page 7

I thought the same thing about how hard it was to lock down the cpu. Idk y that is.

You are going to need this http://www.overclock.net/t/1198504/complete-overclocking-guide-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-asrock-edition
Hopefully you can get 4.2-4.4 without even bumping the voltage.

I also been hearing good things about my 3570K can't wait to get it up and running at 3Phz, when I set the multiplier to x3600 should I up the voltage a little? Also I'm hearing that the continent of Antarctica would be a good heat sink for that kind of speed, any reviews? tongue.gif

Haha if you become a Intel fanboy before you install you will be able to undervolt it at that speed lmao

Got it to 4.4Ghz so far! it been stable for 10min in Prime95, ill do the 12 hour test while i'm out running errands tomorrow I hope it passes woot! Overclocking this chip was stupid easy all I did was up the multiplier to 44x and it worked, the highest I ever got with AMD was 3.6Ghz and that was with a ton of effort, and your telling me that this chip got to 4.4Ghz on air with no effort at all? An Intel fanboy is born thumb.gif

And we lost another one...
One day you'll get bored of not being able to push the limits, since your limited to 100Mhz increments.
Btw overclocking my 1090T is easy as hell too. Everything in auto, 20x multiplier and boot. Done. Instant 4Ghz stable, the board did the job of adjusting the voltages to be stable, it gives too much volts, but its stable tongue.gif
Thats the good thing about AMD, when we buy unlocked CPU's we can OC them the way we wish to OC them. And if it's locked you can still OC them.
In the current times all AMD processors are unlocked thumb.gif
