Love these monitors, you get a wide view like Eyefinity/Surround but without the horrible bezels.

However, this would be kinda interesting if they are substantially cheaper than the 27'' Koerans, you could do a 5400x2560 5x screen eyefinity out of that gaining in vertical space (2.1 aspect ratio) - I somehow doubt though that they would be cheaper than ~350 for the 27'' 2560x1440 Koerans.
BTW I quite like the thin bezels, however the bottom bezel seems to be a bit too wide.

You are NEVER going to get laid with that in your room.

This is a media display i think, not a productivity one. Games and movies will look hella good on this.
Agreed!

Sure you will, unless that was bought with your allowance and is in the parents basement.

Regarding that article:
Quote:
This has real knock-on effects when it comes to viewing photos or webpages, the latter requiring a lot more scrolling for example, while you end up with a narrower field of vision in games too.

That is true only in vert- (fixed horizontal width) games and then you only lose vertical FOV. Many games are hor+ (fixed vertical height) and you actually get a wider FOV on a 16:9.

This can be tested by going into the control panel and setting up an oddball resolution like 1920x800 and testing a few games to see the effects. Pretty much every game that can handle Eyefinity/Surround will be hor+.

Hehe, already have a wife and kid. Which means I get to enjoy these screens somewhat less than I would like but one has to have priorities straight in his life as when thing get really crap in real life at some point down the road the virtual reality cant shelter one from all the crap in real life. Have seen it happen way too many times in MMO's so I hope to have enough wisdom to learn from the mistakes of others without having to walk down the same path.

Besides you just have to find a right girl who would be impressed of such screen array wink.gif

I STILL do not get this. Doesn't making things widescreen at all just cut off more stuff on the top? Why is seeing stuff on the side better than the top or bottom?

That's a bit too wide, imo. Wonder how theatre ar movies would look on it.

What ever happened to that alienware screen that curved about as it was so long? Googling...

Most games will keep the vertical height, and show more on the horizontal.

1280x720

1920x720

Different resolution and aspect ratio than the LG display but the same principle. tl;dr, wider is better. To a point anyway.

As to why more horizontal visibility is preferred over vertical is simple: enemies typically don't come at you from above or below. As well it replicates better the human FOV which is more wide than tall.

Most movies are 2.4:1 or 2.35:1 (it's a messy subject) and 21:9 = 2.33:1 so there will be slight letter boxing.
