I was thinking they were young students but I guess not.

I totally agree.
75% is a huge share.

All iPhones vs. all Androids globally (assuming I'm reading it correctly).

hahaha!

Android can enjoy the marketshare lead. I think for now when the average consumer considers a high end smartphone they know Apple is definitely a good choice.

Correct and I think a lot of people just aren't seeing the numbers here? Iphone sales in comparison of sales of all android devices should put android ahead. I would say that there's a lot of sales of smartphones that android sells that aren't the higest tech. Lots of people buy other midlevel phones that android is putting out. And the iphone puts out what, 2 or 3 phones per gen? Android in all its totality beats that and it shows in the numbers. 75% versus the iphone's share. I think that's fair.

If anything I'd say the comparison couldn't be any better. Apple Lisa computers were pretty much the first home computers with a GUI, weren't they? Just as the iPhone was "pretty much" the first smartphone (aside from Blackberry, I guess many could argue). Both Microsoft and Google have pulled far ahead of Apple in software market share along with their respective hardware manufacturers.

If they're going to compare Apple to Dell and HP in the computer world, they should be comparing Apple to HTC, Samsung, and other vendors in the smartphone world. However, they compare Apple to Andriod as a whole in the mobile comparison.

Not a big arguing point, just a flaw in the author's logic.

Right, but as I mentioned after that post, the author DID compare Apple to the PC market as a whole as well, saying they hold only 12% of the computer market. Comparing them to HP/Dell was just an extra statistical fact thrown in.
