Being a TES fan, but not much in MMO exspecialy PVP(actually I hate pvp but eh), this actually looks like it could be fun. I'll keep following it see what else they are doing with it. Before I decide Beth will get my money again.

I was privately a naysayer of Elder Scrolls Online, but seeing Morrowind influence and not just Skyrim hyped into a half baked MMO gives me some hope. The GW2 influence is there to some degree, but not a bad thing and I really think 1 server with no shards will be great. It works amazingly well for Eve Online and if ESO can hook a lot of long time members this could be one of the best MMOs we've seen in a long time.

Also, DaOC-style PvP please! I think if they can REALLY place PvP at the forefront with great mechanics, awesome netcode, and deep customization and great meta then this could be my new fix.

IMHO up and coming MMOs need in-depth PvP. If I wanted to raid or dungeon crawl 99% of the time I'd just play WoW and I think people outside of the usual MMO community probably feel the same. It's almost like people jump from one to the next, max out level, unsub and the games die until an expansion releases and everyone resubs.

I'm just the opposite. I want good RAID and dungeons. If I wanted good PvP, I'd play a first person shooter (and do). I personally don't like what most MMO's (past or present) do by trying to shoehorn in PvP and PvE into the same game. To me, they should be made top down to be TOTALLY separate. By having both in the game, then end up compromising on both and screwing up both.

I like choices when it comes to MMO's

If I want bloodshed then I want choice to go into a pvp battle but for whatever reason I want to go stare at waterfall for 4 hours i want to do it without worring about some ass attacking me.

when a game forces pvp, then I don't want nothing to do with it. I don't find pvp as fun as others.

Fair enough, I'm not a fan of the ultra instanced, pigeon holed and tacked on PvP of other games. Just saying if it's all on one server with un-instanced PvP a la Eve, this could be really freakin' cool. It's something that definitely isn't easily created, but thinking back to DaOC, Ultima, and Shadowbane...those were good times.
Although if they made ESO have no PvP, what's the allure? I could smash random AI, skill up, and loot by myself for ages.

This is looking more interesting than I thought it would be. But still has potential to go either way in my mind. I may pick this up if its free-to-play, no subscription.

And some of it is reminding me of GW2. wink.gif

Weird, i have been wishing for coop Elder Scrolls since Morrowind, and now i get it... in MMO form, sorry, but i ain't impressed. MMO's seem to be failing left right and center. I want deep story from my RPG, something MMOs have yet to do, sure SWTOR and GW2 have made advances, but after a few hours of intensive story action in SWTOR you had to do entire planets worth of quests for the main quest to actually go anywhere, at that point i quit. GW2 is a bit better in that respect. The phasing tech in WoW helped a bit too. But in the end they simply can't compete with a singleplayer or coop experience.

Wish they could throw all this cash at a game with a world the size of morrowind, oblivion and skyrim combined, with the new combat features of Skyrim, expanded a bit, with more spells!, the interface of Morrowind with a slight update, get rid of the quest markers and give you a good ol' journal with a few more features than in Morrowind so you would actually have to think agian for once. Add tons of text dialogue. As nice as voice acting is it is highly restrictive in terms of what it costs compared to text. I always wonder in the newer elder scrolls games that the person tells me to go kill some bears but never mentions where the hell they actually are. Not to mention fast travel kinda ruined the whole exploration thing for me. The thing i liked in Morrowind was that when you were looking for this cave some guy told you to kill some dudes in, you almost always stumbled upon something in the process, or had some crazy dude with weird boots land in your face. Where as in Skyrim you are most likely just gonna point your nose in the direction of the quest marker and walk. /rant

I'm really skeptical. The Elder Scrolls is my favorite series, and I'm really excited to see where we've been and familiar motifs. Choosing between the factions may be tough smile.gif. Also, the one shard implementation will be interesting to see - something I've always loathed about WoW & SWTOR, and loved about EVE.

That said...we'll see. I'm worried about combat, classes, and the fact they said "the game really opens up at level 50".
