What causes "GPU_MEMTEST_ERROR"?

So I am back to folding after 10 weeks. Fired up my rig, did necessary tinkering to ensure stability and started off with stock settings for now. The GPU is causing me headache.

Nvidia driver 301.24 had same problem. So I installed 306.23 and updates the folding client to FAH V7.2.9. No improvement.

What is causing the GPU_MEMTEST_ERROR? Google search brings out threads related to GTX 6xx only.

Do you have the GPU client running as a service? That is know to cause that error.

No overclock whatsoever.

If the memory is failing ...how do I have good display output? I did not run any benchmark yet btw.

No need to read all that. Do not allow the GPU to run as a service and your fixed. thumb.gif
