[Mp1st] Diablo III Expansion Confirmed - Page 4

Besides the fact that most of you didn't play D2 a decade ago, they did the same exact thing they're doing now.
...History repeating itself...
Just because something was "supposed" to happen, doesn't mean it will...Unless, you feel like buying the expansion, that is.

So the excuse is that because D2 had to go through updates to get certain features so that D3 should be allowed the same time? I am sorry, but that excuse is beyond pathetic. D2 did not have any precedent for half the things it was doing. D3 had both D2 AND LoD to serve as a template for success. There is no reason at all that PvP should be taking this long after the release of the game. There is no reason or excuse for all the fact that in order to get people to stay with the game before even half a year, that they had to bring in features that were already available in D2. There is NO REASON OR EXCUSE at all, just the arrogance of Jay Wilson trying to force his crappy vision for the game on us.

PS
Please refresh my memory. Which features did Blizzard North promise would be available in D2 on release that were not?

Actually they don't. Thus the expansion, it's like a new RAID for wow. lol

If it happens to be a raid with stat points, i might consider. Not flippin likely, though

As much as I hate what they did to Diablo 3, that's just silly. Work still had to go into developing the expansion so expecting the developers to work for free is a little ridiculous. If the game was really that disappointing to you, why would you even want the expansion anyway? Free or not..

People still use that line? (owait.. they do, I just saw it in a Halo 4 thread tongue.gif) Of course people still play it. The opinions of internet goers are, 9 times out of 10, not that of the majority of the players.

PvP was unbalanced and stagnant...Holy Paladins were the gods of PvP and essentially took whatever they wanted...Full drops was an error for a long time...Instadeath...

I could genuinely do this all day...But, they weren't available in vanilla...In fact, over 1/2 the UI was revamped so it actually worked for LoD.

The major difference back then was that there weren't patches like there are now...They got the VAST majority of us to pay for LoD because the errors were getting fixed.

Regardless of what you feel an "excuse" is, you're actually entitled to nothing they aren't willing to give you...They've said PvP was coming and would be a feature...No where has it said FROM BLIZZARD, it would be free.

Not trying to play devil's advocate here but, they honestly owe us nothing...You got what you got for 60$ and when they release the expansion, we get what we get for an additional 40$...There's no guarantee of anything, a signed contract or the will of god forcing them to do anything...That's the way Blizzard has always been...Look at SC2.

Wait, are we talking about SC2... Part 1? or the upcoming Part 2 and 3 mad.gif Though three distinct games could be nice if you got three feature length campaigns, I'll probably wait until Part 3 is out and then play through it all. The campaign was very disappointing to me frown.gif... for both SC2 and D3, since I'm staying on topic here ninja.gif

Again, which one of those were features that Blizzard had promised to deliver but did not? Blizzard has come out many times and said that PvP will be FREE in a future patch and that they are aiming for 1.1. Now if your argument is that they can renege on what they promised as it was not in a signed contract, then I can agree with you.

PS
The SC2 dev team is far more communicative than the ilk for D3.
