they are downloading now, what i want to try and do is make the 160GB my master HDD so my computer will boot up better, i will still want to have myself a Slave drive too, to make myself some backups of software and keep my homework on. i should still be able to do this right?

I have a 80Gig IDE + 120Gig Sata.

My Config -

80Gig : 3 Partitions

1st - SP2 (backup OS for certain apps)
2nd - Vista RC2 (Main OS Until DX10 and I buy it)
3rd - Steam + Valve Folder (so when i format I dont need the disk + lose my maps etc )

120Gig - 1 Partition

Music
Movie Backups
Game Backups
+ One final Backup OS I can boot when I need too - XP Media Center Edition Custom (streamlined by me)

So I would say your idea will work fine
