Want a keyboard

Thread Starter
If I wanted a new mechanical keyboard but I wanted one that was quiet which type of keys would I be looking for?

Cherry MX Browns, Blacks, or reds. Depends on if you want a tactile feel, or a linear ( No bump) .

From my experience cherry red was the least noisy.
Blacks close second, then brown. But this is just nitpicking, if you want a silent mechanical, just look for either of these switches.

I tried reds and didn't like them, but browns with o-rings are really nice.

Blacks and reds and browns are to all intents and purposes at the same noise level. The difference isn't anything to bother about at all.

As others have mentioned O-rings silence the clacking you get when the key hits the bottom of the keyboard. But they reduce the travel distance of the keypress. If you don't want that make sure you try and get 2mm ones as they make the least difference.
