How long do i have to wait???

Thread Starter
Well i decided to wait for core2duo, i decided to wait for a nvidia 8 series(still to pricey), now i hear the R600 is supposed to be like 500x better!! i hear new mobos that support 1600fsb are coming out! When will be a good time to make a e6600/6700 build?? and i also heard there will be some crazy ddr3 and/or DDR2 1200 coming out.

ive got $1500 saved right now, probably $2000-$2500 by new years. Is it even worth it to wait anymore? will AMD come out with a comparable processor that will lower core 2 duo prices?

Well, by the time you wait for those you've mentioned, there will be something right around the corner that is going to be inexpensive and just as good.

So you'll always end up in the waiting cycle. I'm waiting but for the 2nd round of DX10 cards, I'm pretty much done with waiting for other things even though I know they're going to be a little better than what I have......

But what's the point of waiting for the best when the best is just here? Get it while you can, that's what I'd say.

I say , buy a new rig in February.
By then , vista as been released, so have mainstream quad-core procesors, and so R600 should be.

The question is rather or not your shopping for a new computer. If you say, want a direct x 10 card and you want to see how ATI compares with the G80 before buying. That's okay, you are still in the market for buying. However, if you find yourself thinking " I'm going to wait till the price of the quad cores go down", then your not currently in the market of upgrading.

If what's out is way better than what you have why not upgrade? Whenever you decided to buy remember that something new is going to always be coming out a few months down the line. And prices are always going to be dropping.
