Ok, so I'm a little confused as to what's going on.
I currently own a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3. On my board it is printed as a Revision 1.1 motherboard, yet I am only able to install Revision 1.0 BIOS files from their website. To those who are unfamiliar with these boards, Rev 1.0 does not include LLC as an option (whether its physical hardware that does not allow this or just the way the BIOS is programmed, so be it).
I have LLC. I know it works because depending on the setting, my overclocks can become stable or unstable due to voltage fluctuation. I'm currently stable on the MEDIUM setting w/ my 1055T @ 4 GHz. Anything lower or higher results in stability issues.
Here's whats perplexing... I am unable to install Rev 1.1 BIOS releases from their website (Q-Flash does not detect via USB or a FAT32 partitioned HDD). However, I am able to install Rev. 1.0 BIOS files. I have upgraded my BIOS from its stock F1/2/3 (don't remember which one) to F6, and finally F9.
I am a prospective FX-8350 buyer, and I don't want to run into problems. My board is only 6 months old, so I can technically RMA it pending any problems. Does anyone with information on the 8350s and compatibility/stability with overclocks have any information regarding potential stability with this board specifically? Is it really only LLC (as I read) that influences your luck with good overclocks?
Thanks guys.
