Please recommend me a solid overclocking motherboard under $200

Thread Starter
I have a 3570k overclocked to 4900MHz and a vcore of 1.416v. CPU calculator says it draws over 200 watts and I would like to run this 24/7. My current mainboard is an Asrock Z77 extreme4 and I am hearing that this wattage may be too much for a board in this price point to hold that overclock for a long duration.

Can you please recommend me a motherboard hopefully under $200 that will not have any problems with this high overclock. With one stipulation, the reason I chose the asrock, I need an accessible pci slot to run a pci sound card while running SLI video cards.

Id go Asus Maximus V Gene(200) or Sabertooth z77 (220)

Your PCI with SLI requirement limits pretty much all good motherboards besides Extreme6. Sell that sound card and buy PCI-E x1.

Then buy Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H/UP4/UP5, MSI M-Power, ASRock Z77 OC Formula.

oops thought that was a pcie sound card....i agree with above post, but if u want to keep that card, the asus P8Z77-V Pro looks ok...
EDIT: all others I've looked at either don't have a pci slot, or it will be covered by second sli card......

Totally forgot that Asus P8 boards also have 2 PCI slots doh.gif. Probably P8Z77-V or P8Z77-V Pro are the best choices for OP.

doh.gif same here forgot that.. yeah the P8z77-v or Pro you should be able to put the audio card between the two graphics cards as that slot wont be covered or interfered with by a graphics card where on boards that have a single PCI slot from what i have seen the secondary graphics card will often cover the PCI slot such as on the GB ud5h.. the asus P8z77-v or Pro would be one of your best bets and able to sustain a nice OC as well

Thank you for your replies. I agree that the p8z77-v pro has everything I need, the right slot placement with room for my sound card, the right ports (forgot to mention I use an esata backup drive), has a 16 phase power design which should hold my overclock very nicely, as well as a reasonable price point of $200. I will be saving for this purchase and making it about the end of this month.

my vote is with the z77x-ud5h, I'm running one for my 3770k + 680 lightning (4.9ghz on cpu and 1410 on vcore) 24/7 and it hasnt hiccuped yet.

its also a bit cheaper and in my opinion offers a bit more than the asus board.
