GeForce GTX 670 (EVGA) with Accelero Twin Turbo II

Hello everyone!

I just bought the Accelero Twin Turbo II along with the GeForce GTX 670 (EVGA). I am now done opening the GeForce. Here are pictures of what I find myself with (front and back)

I am a little loss now. I am not sure where to apply the heatsinks as it looks like there are VR and RAM components on the front AND on the back of the card?? Moreover, as you can see on the next picture, when I position the mounting plate, it blocks access to two places where I should normally be applying heatsinks (top right and bottom left).

I guess I could potentially be applying smaller heatsinks and leave part of the RAM not covered by the heatsink. What do you guys think of all this?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

The RAM on the back will be fine, and if the mounting bracket is touching those other RAM modules, great! I wouldn't worry about the RAM as long as you have good airflow. As for the VRs, they definitely need heatsinks.

Hmm, I'm not sure I understand. Why is it great if the mounting bracket is touching the RAM modules? Am I not supposed to put heatsinks on these RAM modules?

As for the VR's I have trouble locating them... I have removed the factory heatsink because I realized it was too big and that I would not be able to fix the Accelero Twin Turbo II with the stock heatsink still in place. Are these the VR's ? Is there any other on the card?

Thanks

Those 12 (6x2) black squares are the VR's I think. What I meant was that the bracket will probably cool your your RAM plenty.

Ya for the VR's that's what I think too. But the bracket isn't for cooling...its to fix the accelero twin turbo to the card. It is not for cooling. I also have the feeling that if it touches the RAM it might be a problem (anyone knows?). I also wonder if I can simply apply heatsinks to only a part of the RAM (like half of it) since the other half won't be accessible because of the bracket.

Check on the stock cooler where the cooler actually touches components. All those need cooling with sinks

From the 3rd picture it look like you can still put the HS that come with the card, it's a tight fit but it should be doable. Ive double checked on Arctic site and your card is on the compatibility list. Also as long as you have good air flow, ram and Vr don't *need* cooling, it's better with but i have been running my 6970's with a H70/620 mod and they never get passed 70C. (monitoring with Aida64) They feel warm to the touch but no burning.
