Technically it is not a lie. Something obviously went wrong. All I want to prevent is have EVGA say "OH it must be your fault, therefore you loose your warranty on a 1K GPU" . EVGA isn't gonna do that, they are legendary for taking care of customers, If he didn't flash a modded bios / do something crazy that they can figure out. Then they are gonna replace it or test it thoroughly and take it apart inspect it etc and send it back.
They don't have the legal right to just throw someones warranty away on a whim btw.
