I've been using 16gb of ram on my computer ever since I built it, but a couple of days ago, I noticed that windows only had detected 8gb when I opened the task manager. Not worrying too much, I simply shut down my computer, and re-inserted all of my sticks. Booted up, and entered the bios, where I found myself a little confused. Even after re-inserting all the sticks, the bios only detected 8gb. Spent the rest of the day and two more running each stick individually through an extended runthrough of Windows Memorydiagnostics. They were all completely fine. So I decided to test the the memory-slots themselves. Through the method of elimination, I found that they were also fine.
After flashing the bios TWICE, I still had not found the solution. In desperation, I even changed the power-supply and some other components with another computer. Still nothing.
But here's the real weird thing. The motherboard DOES detect all of the sticks, in the SPD-menu, but under the "Main" tab in the bios, only a total of 8gb is showing up. As I said earlier, I've had 16gb installed and utilized it for more than a year now. Will add a video later on which will give you a better picture of it all.
Is there anyone out there who has any idea what is going on? The pc I'm talking about is the one in my sig.
