Stuck at 3.4Ghz on e6600 and P5W DH

Thread Starter
Well I have successfully made it to 3.4Ghz stable on my setup. I would like to go up to 3.6Ghz but when I bump up the FSB it becomes unstable. I have tried giving more voltage to the CPU Vcore but still no luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

Here are my BIOS Specs:

Yeah, raise the MCH voltage and FSB termination voltage a bit. It should help

I would say you are probably going to need around 1.45v - 1.5v to get close to 3.6Ghz

Also try MCH and FSB term. up by +0.1v as mentioned above

I agree, your vcore is very low for a 3.6 overclock, try between 1.43 and 1.5 as said above in the earliest posts...

You can probably tighten those timings too. Side note hijack: anyone know what chips are used in xms2 pc-5400 memory stix? Curious because you have the 6400's, and I am wondering if they are worth it?...

You shouldn't need more mch voltage until higher fsb than that. I keep seeing people recommend upping these voltages at low fsb's, it's totally not necessary. We need some stickie updates around here or something. All you guys are doing is making people create more heat, for nothing. Just leave it on auto, it will scale up with it anyway. It's your vcore that's holding you back I'm thinkin. That's kinda low for that kind of OC. You'll probably need more than 1.4 to go higher. Make sure to do some good stability testing too.

I highly doubt youre stable with that vCore. You're gonna need to really crank it to maintain stability at that high a clock speed.

i set my VCORE to 1.3675 in the BIOS and managed to get THIS

and since the mobo doesnt really set the voltage to what is should, CPU-Z says its 1.336V
