Stuck at 3.4Ghz on e6600 and P5W DH - Page 2

Thread Starter
I tried upping the Vcore all the way up to 1.45 and could get the system to post but it would not go any farther with a 400FSB. I set the vCore to 1.4 and currently running the 3.4Ghz 377FSB oc. For now I am happy with this. I am unsure of the mch voltage so I have not tried messign with that.

Thanks for all the tips though!!!

and since the mobo doesnt really set the voltage to what is should, CPU-Z says its 1.336V
And as soon as that chip gets a load, it will crash. 3.8ghz on mine needs over 1.6v to be load-stable.

I would test with Orthos Prime version of Prime95. This will see if your system is stable at load.

1.4V/377/3.4GHz is fine. What week is your CPU? It's all about where you are happy and stable with that system.

Take a look at your box (If it is a retail CPU) and look to the barcode area. You will see a code such as:

FPO/Batch #: L626A415

Look to the 3rd and 4th digits. The above example shows a Week 26 build. What is yours? Also, if you use core temp, what is your default VID?

My CPU Box says L631A718 so I assume that means week 31?

And I am a newb and the acronyms forum does not have VID that I see but I am going to guess its the default Vcore for the Chip? In that case on the CPU box it says 1.35V Max.

On another note if i do up the MCH is there a way to monitor the chipset temp? I have ASUS Probe thats says motherboard 30C. Not sure if this means the MCH though.

And if so what temp should I stay below?

When my motherboard temp goes over 45c asus probe alarms you

My mch voltage directly affects my motherboard temp, so the sensor must at least be near the NB, if its' not sensing the NB itself
