Just clocked in from Texas.

I'm probably twice as old as anyone else here but I still like computers.

Spent 40 years in IT management - now retired.

As of this post, I'm in the middle of doing my first build - Intel Core i5 3570k with ECS Z77 H2-A3 mobo with 16 GB RAM and a Corsair 750W PSU, DVD, CD, HDDs, etc. Still trying to make up my mind about a cooler.

I don't game and probably won't overclock, but thought I'd come here and see what I could learn - plus its always good to have places to seek answers to your questions.

The heatsinks listed in the article are comparable in performance to most "entry level" liquid cooling systems for much less money.

Wow !

Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone.

Yes, many of us in Texas say , "Howdy!." Maybe not in DFW or Austin or San Antonio or El Paso but you'll hear it in Houston occasionally and dang near everywhere else. Come to think of it, not many young folks seem to use it.

I started in IT in the '60s feeding punched cards to IBM 1401s and late into 360s. Wasn't long before I was learning Basic Assembler, COBOL, and PL/1. I did Basic in college, too, and a little Pascal. I became a programming projects manager and then became a systems analyst and then deputy CIO then CIO. There isn't much I haven't done. I've tried to keep my hand in by writing simple apps for myself in C++ but its just an occasional hobby. I have designed and written native HTML and XTML code to build some websites (none I want to show off).

Again, thanks for the great welcome.

I think I'm gonna be spending a lot of time here learning from you guys!
