Distance to 360

What is the average distance for a 360 in FPS games?

I've seen some people say that most pro gamers use 9-10 inches for a 360.

How exactly is this tested? Is it moving the mouse itself 9-10 inches or is it the difference in distance of the sensor itself?

Also what FOV do people use to test this?

I play CoD at 1800 DPI with 2.5 in game sensitivity and 80 FOV. I put my mouse on a white sheet of paper (11 inches long) and I was able to turn around about 800 degrees (this isn't the sensor moving 11 inches, it's keeping the mouse completely on the paper the entire time).

Use this calculator to find out what your sensitivity/360 is. http://www.funender.com/quake/mouse/index.html

I don't know if CoD sensitivity multipliers work the same as other games.

I lowered my sens in game to 1.5 and now it's about the length of my iPhone for 360 when not aiming, and almost twice that when I am aiming.

Edit: found a ruler, 12 cm when not aiming, and 22 cm when aiming.

I can only speak about CoD 2 (not MW2). The sensitivity is different from atleast Counter-strike.

You need to open console and type cl_showmouserate. Then press Shift + console and that will show your sensitivity and it will be the same as in counter-strike/quake I think.

Iirc, CoD 4 was different from CoD 2 aswell, but cl_showmouserate 1 should show the value you have in cs/quake.

A ruler or a piece of paper is good enough. In my opinion you should set 800-900 DPI and keep the same sensitivity, in other words double distance to 360. Make it about 25cm or more, of course you'll need large mousepad. This helps to aim quickly and with good precision consistently.
