What will i be able to overclock a 3930k to on a h100?

Depends entirely on the chip and the other components you have in the setup. Assuming a balanced system, normal ambients, good airflow and a decent chip, probably 4.7 to 4.8ghz.

But again, depends very much on the chip.

Well i want to run the 3930k with the H100 then water cool 2 680s with a 360mm rad.

But the back case fan will be sucking in fresh air for the h100

I manage 4.6Ghz with medium ambients, i think 4.7Ghz is doable but volts and temps may overwhelm the H100.

Like above posters said. Yes you will be able to OC, but how much depends entirely on the chip.

That may be a lot more trouble than its worth. A custom loop would cost a few hundred dollars if you want it to last (and that's if you're only cooling the CPU). Perhaps to clarify (though correct me if I'm wrong) the above posts, you very likely won't be limited THERMALLY in your overclock with the H100. You would much more likely be limited by the quality of your chip.

Edit: I just read your second post about W/Cing the 680's as well. If that's what you wanna do, then just throw everything on the same custom loop and be done with it, but I just generally think that a custom loop for just a CPU is silly.

an H100 will definitely have a thermal limit before the chip hits the max voltage. So yes a custom WC loop will definitely help.

im just guna go with a custom loop, with the 3930k, mosfets and one single 690. then i dont have to go through with all the bridge links for the ek water blocks.
yes i do know that 2 680 will be a little bit faster, but oh well tongue.gif
