how do i setup raid 0 amongst four ssd drivers

i am currently looking for an ssd for my setup but i want to setup raid 0 aswell. i was wondering if i want to raid 4 ssd togethere do i need a raid card or can i use my motherboard onboard controller

If you're just after throughput, then go for it. Just be aware that you'll be limited to sataII speeds, since you'll have to span the array across sataII and III ports, and you'll gain nothing as far as programs loading/boot times. Be warned there is no working raid trim support on z68 AFAIK.

Add the SSD's to the white/black ports, enter bios, set sata mode to RAID, save & exit, enter the raid setup utility and add those drives to the array, then create. Keep in mind if you had your OS drive (if it's seperate) set to ide then move it to the grey port and set that one (marvel I believe) to ide.

You can't put drives on both the Intel Z77 and secondary controller (Marvel, etc.) in the same RAID array, can you?

nope, well you can for Windows software RAID, but not the onboard controller RAID.
