Did you use a Dremel to make the custom HDD mount out of the cage?

Also what was the process with the fan controller mod.

Hopefully I can start my log soon as well.

First of all, I'm glad you like it! biggrin.gif.
And... WOW, I would be honored if you could show him the build. I hope it's finished by then... Oh, and could you let him know he was one of my favorite characters in the show, he was just plain awesome! thumb.gif Hilarious even, at times.

I used a dremel to cut one of the HDD-cages that came with the case. But this could be done, sawing it by hand. The steel is pretty thin. It can only hold 1 HDD now instead of 3. I got the SSD taped to the back of the mobo tray. This way, I had room to put the Kaylee figurine in. Also it improved airflow by ALOT!

To mod the fan-controller, I used one of the metal 5.25" bay-covers that came with the case. I first took the plexi front of the zalmam fan-controller. This was as easy as pulling the knobs of by hand and taking out the 4 screws on the front. Next, I taped the plexi front onto the metal 5.25" bay-cover. I made sure it was completely strait on there and just drilled through the existing holes of the plexi, onto the metal. This way, I didn't have to do the work of messuring everything to get the holes in the right place. After cleaning up the drilled holes, I just screwed the baycover onto the fan-controller, instead of the plexi-front. I had to use spacers, since the bay-cover was thinner. This got me a perfectly matching fancontroller for like 20 euro.

Update:
Here's what still needs to be done:
  • Placement of more white single LED's, like I used on Kaylee, and making sure those cables are hidden. The LED's will highlight certain case-parts.
  • Making a cover out of spare polycarbonate for the 5.25" bay, inside of the case. This will be painted black, like the PSU-cover and because the Rolling Stones say so!
  • Making a console with temp display to fit in the bottom left of the case.
  • Making the tubes on the H100 match the Antec 620 (maybe I'm going to buy an H100i to replace my H100, which I then would sell).
  • Maybe using more copper-tubes to hide the USB 3.0 cable better (this would probably connect kaylee's figurine and the console, that is still to be made).
  • Fixing little esthetic faults.
  • Copper-painting 120mm fan grills, which I want to mount on the inside, onto the Cougar fans. And one on the back of the case, after I cut out the mesh there.
  • Copper-painting the grey plastic strip around the front (this is going to be a challenge, since I can't take them of. I will have to tape the edges very, very carefuly!)

I can do the first 4 without a problem in the next 2 months. The stuff I have to paint will propably have to wait till next spring, when outside temps get better for painting. Since I don't have access to a painting-booth.
