$590 before the OS selection. Thats with only 1 kit of 2x4GB RAM. Which is plenty.

Pick up OS for about $100 from pretty much any site

This is a AMD Build. Why? Because it was not possible on OCN to build an Intel build that I would have wanted for myself with the budget on hand. But this build will be plenty. You could probably pick out a different case than whats there. After all that is a full tower case and he/she may be happier with a Mid tower. Check Newegg.
