That's hard to say,I have been doing this a long time. Not counting the CNC equipment all you would really need is angle head grinder,dremel and a small flux core MIG welder (cheap @ harbor freight).
Maybe $300-$400 for all of it.
But once you add in bender,rollers,shears,CNC lathe and mill,all painting equipment. Guessing $6000-$8000. I'm just about ready to purchase a Tormach 1100 CNC mill and it's just over $20,000. It will be running everyday making parts for a custom car fab shop...and of course PC parts.
So like every hobby out there when and where do you stop! Look for sales at Harbor Freight most of the tools they have will do a good job for case mods no more then you will be using them.
