since no one can answer my REAL question, I decided to try it myself, I enable AA 8x, and AA Transparency into 8x on NVIDIA Control Panel, and turn off the settings MSAA and AA Post on BF3, and I am surprised it doesn't work, I got 120 - 130 FPS most of time, lol

Yea, it won't work. Completely disabled for Battlefield 3. Tired it last night too. If you can't enable a feature in the specific game setting, your global setting won't magically enable it in the game.

I enable it on Program Settings not Global Settings, when I enable 4xMSAA and AA Post off with 8x AA on NCP, I think it didn't work because I get a same framerate (about 70 - 90 FPS), but when I enable 4xMSAA and AA Post WITH 8xSupersample (in AA Transparency on NVIDIA NCP), I am surprised, it work, my framerate is down to 50 - 60 FPS,
So I am still biased, which is the TRUE 8xMSAA? AA settings or AA Transparency???

Transparency AA is not the same as normal AA, and it is much less demanding. Transparency AA is for the alpha channel - things like trees and fences that aren't smoothed by normal AA, so ideally you want to have both of them on (if you are forcing it in the control panel). Also, if you choose "enhance the application" in the control panel then you need to turn AA on in the game, otherwise it doesn't work (because there is nothing to enhance). But, in general, it isn't a good idea to force AA in the control panel - better to use the in-game settings.

If you want to force a level of AA in the control panel, don't choose "enhance the application", choose "override the application" instead. I thought you had said you were using enhance earlier, that's why I wrote that.
Have you tried forcing it through Nvidia Inspector?

I googled it the other day and didn't see any definitive answers. There was some speculation that the game automatically overrides the control panel settings. Are we sure that Tom's post wasn't an error, or from a pre-patch version that used to allow it?
