limited connectivity when a visitor connects

i have a wbr-1310 router, with teksaavy. whenever my brother comes to visit and connects to the network, the internet works for a while then goes "limited connectivity". this past weekend, a couple came over and tried to connect, and it did the same thing.

usually, without visitors, the internet is pretty stable... very few restarts needed.

*** is going on?

Unlikely this is the problem, but can you go into the web interface on it and make sure that NAT or Network Address Translation is enabled.

If their IPs revert to 169.254.x.x when this happens, I'd give extending your DHCP lease a shot (like a week).
