I bought a 3570k and paired it up with an MSI Z77 mPower Board for my new rig. I ran Prime95 and IntelburnTest on it and it reached around 75 degrees under load. I think that is very high as the cooler Im using is a Cooler Master TPC 812 in a push pull configuration with 2 Cooler Master XtraFlo fans. My CPU idles around 42 degrees and my mobo says that my case temp is about 33-35 degrees. Is there something wrong with my CPU and do I need to RMA it? I can currently overclock to 4.4GHz and my temps are like 85 under load and 45 idle. I am using a Noctua NT-H1 thermal compound and I have applied and reapplied for about 3 times now and all the temps are about the same.

Ivy runs hot, but that sounds a bit high. I would probably try reappling your TIM and reseating your cooler a couple of times first before RMA. I'm not familiar enough with a chip to say if only some are that bad and some are better, but it may be they are all like that.

85 under load@ 4.4 doesn't seem to out of the ordinary, what voltage? I doubt Intel would accept an rma based on temperatures like that

These are hot chips and your temps are within normal limits. I think it's a bit silly to RMA it becuase the temps aren't what you like after overclocking, not to mention there's nothing in the warranty that covers temps being warmer than you want after overclocking.

Temps are normal. 4.4GHz 1.25v @ 85C under load is absolutely fine for 24/7 use, don't stress it. If you want to OC further you will need better cooling.
