I was tempted to see about taking the red caps off the memory and seeing if I can paint them a different color, but I'm not so sure that would be needed. Just a hint of red might go well with the color theme.

Thoughts?

One thing is for sure, going to have to peel off the white stickers before calling it "done". I'll do that after it's all running nicely ... in case I have to send them back for an RMA or such.

Might go well. I tried to take some stuff of my ram and well lets just say the ram went with it and left it in pieces lol.

Looking great so far, definitely subbing this! Also the top fins come right off of the heatsinks with just 2 little screws holding them on, I have the same ram, and its very easy to modify them, also may I suggest some of those orange and black cougar fans for this build, they would suit it well.

I knew they came off, but when I contacted the manufacturer about different colors, they said they didn't have any. Do you have a link to what you are referring to?

I don't know what the policy here is with posting external links but here goes, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553002
I was referring to these fans, I think they would look the part in this build, especially on your RX360, such a shame you can't fit three fans on that, my inner nerd OCD would be in turmoil over that laugher.gif

Ah, nice. Yeah, I thought about using the Cougars. The color scheme would go nicely. I may change my mind and do something like that, and repurpose the AP-14's on the upper radiator. For some reason, I thought you were talking about orange and black heat sinks on the RAM. My eyes must be tired. wink.gif

I may still try to work the 6th fan in. It's only missing by like 1-2mm. Maybe a little "Dremel Time" will be all that it takes.

I was almost going to do some DIY anodizing on my heatsinks, but ended up just removing them altogether with no real ill effect on the temps of the ram, so I imagine putting a thin layer of orange paint on them wouldn't do much harm, if any at all...and I definitely think you should bust out the old dremel and see what can be done about the fan, other than that, I cant wait to see the rest of the build coming along, you could re-purpose those AP-14's for the monsta rad in the bottom too.

Yeah, I might see about that. At my company we have outside contractors make custom chassis for our products and they have an entire anodizing facility. I might see if they can sneak them into a tank sometime.

I already have 6 AP-14's sitting on my shelf for the lower Monsta 360 (I bought 12 just for this project. I might buy one of the Cougars and try the Dremel on it. If it works, I will get 5 more and swap them out. With Scythe USA out of business now, I think Gentle Typhoons will now be at a premium price. Might not want to butcher one needlessly.

I think you should paint the RAM heat spreaders. Keep the theme orange and black! thumb.gif
