Yeah, but on the plus side, having that one fan missing, does show off the nice contrast between the orange pain on the radiator housing and the black of the fins. It is just so sweet a contrast, I'm really digging looking in and seeing it.

I just noticed I do have to do something to that BluRay drive. Either paint the case or maybe get some "wrap" for it. Not sure yet. I know having optical drives aren't "vogue" anymore, but I do use mine almost every day with SlyFox. wink.gif

Yeah, I'm leaning that way, but then again, the red on the memory does sort of match with the red lettering that says "Gigabyte" on the motherboard.

I'll just have to stare at it and ponder.

By all means keep the suggestions coming. I do take them to heart.

Just throwing my 2cents.gif in....as the others are suggesting, painting the memory would work much better IMO.
EDIT: Also, if it were me, I would go with all or nothing in regards to the fans on the bottom of the rad. You mentioned you do like seeing the contrast between the black fins and the orange paint...so just using no fans at all on the bottom would look good. Guess you would just have to make the fans up top pushing through the rad into the case though...not sure how much hot air that would be dumping into the case. But anyway, with just the two fans up there, doesn't flow right.

Subbed after reading your post from that Aussie dude's Switch 810 problems.

Stoked you got a Alphacool Monsta. I absolutely LOVE my Alphacool Nexxos UT60 series 360 and 240! I find the quality, options, and performance to be a level above my XSPC rads. And while the copper screws are a nice touch, there a pain to match if ya run out - which I did of course...

Speaking of Cougar fans, I just bought 3 of them (in Black, PWM version) two weeks ago to try out since Newegg had them for $9.99ea. The orange non-pwm ones (bearings and specs are similar) are NOW ON SALE too... just saying rolleyes.gif. I got them to see if they would be quiter than my GT-2150's which make a lot of wind noise above medium speed pushing on my top 360 radiator. First thing I noticed with the Cougars when testing them upright, not mounted, is they throw a lot of air - even at lower rpm's. Very quiet without obstruction, so great for intake or exhaust case fans. Mounted on the rad they also make some noise above medium, but not as much as the GT-2150's, yet the airflow is almost equal. I'd say the airflow is between the GT-2150 and my GT-1850's (aka AP-15), and yet the airflow is more centralized and steady, rather than scattered. The case corners have like a rubber type texture rather than the solid plastic cast molding the GT's have. Perhaps to absorb vibration? They don't make any I noticed anyhow. Overall they were a great buy, and I'm keeping them on my top 360 radiator as the black color goes better with my black case theme compared to the grey fanned GT's. The GT fans on my 240 res are not visible or audible at their lower case placement, so they need not be replaced. If I didn't have so many fans already I'd pick up the orange Cougar's too, but I must resist...the temptation...yes...no!

Interested in how the tubing and dye will look for sure. Hurry up already wink.gif.

Looking forward to seeing The Muzzle Flash Fire up!

Well, I finally got the SSD and hard drive formatted up last night. Talk about a nightmare!

Took me about 5 hours and 9 attempts to get is SORT OF like I wanted. For some reason, Ubuntu would not recognize the existing Windows 7 partition, and when it did, with UEFI on, it wouldn't allow it to dual boot, even with GRUB.

Originally I wanted to have 75% of the 256GB SSD and 75% of the 1TB hard drive to be partitioned for Windows 7, and the remaining for Linux. In the end I just had to do 100% of the SSD for Windows and 50% of the hard drive for Linux. The more I think of it, the more I like this anyway. At least this way, if my SDD or HDD crashes, I will still have an operating system that I can boot from the other physical drive and operate.

So now Windows 7 boots up incredibly fast (duh, it's an SSD), and Linux boots up reasonably fast on that 6GB/Sec hard drive.

Thank you for the kind words.

Also, thank you for pointing out that those fans went on sale. I went ahead and bought 6 of them. I guess I'll put them in the upper area, and just keep the AP-14's down on the Monsta 360 ... for now. wink.gif

I too am interested in the dye. I might get a scrap piece of Durelene and put some drops in it and photograph it and post them here.

I need to pay attention more. Great build so far.

I would just take the heatsinks off the RAM myself, they have black pcb, and IMO would look better than the red, and that way you can always slap them back on later if you need to RMA the RAM for any reason.

Well, Christmas came early at the Knucklehead house. I went out and ran in to "Santa" and he told me that this was a gift for BOTH me and the wife and that we shouldn't buy each other gifts this year. I was so excited by what Santa said that I raced home and told the wife and asked her if she wanted to wrap it and wait for the 25th or wrap the empty boxes and use the gift during the holiday. Well, to my shock and surprise, she picked the latter. rolleyes.gif

And yes, I know, I need to take pictures of Muzzle Flash with the new camera. Once the battery charges. biggrin.gif

Woooo Hooooooo . . . .

Some Lucky Knuckleheads at your house, (be they E or F series)

Santa needs to replace my aging Olympus C8080, but everytime he gets to the caribbean, he ends up wasted on Cruzan Single Barrel rum and weed mad.gif

That's a really nice camera,enjoy it.
