Need help, lag in BF3 - Page 5

This may depend on the settings you use in the game.

I'm gonna go right ahead and say that it's your chip mate.
Sure the FX-41xx can take singleplayer at Ultra, but like iinversion has said:

Turn down your settings a tad - don't expect the FX-41xx to give you the best of the best when it comes to BF3 multiplayer. It's a cheaper chip for a reason.

Well you're right, i had to lower settings to med to get constant 60-70+ fps/ But single player settings forward. I will be looking at getting an FX 8350 or waiting for the steamroller.

8350 is not necessary. The 8320 is the exact same chip so get that and save some money. AFAIK Steamroller isn't due until 2014 so you'll be waiting a long while.

Well looks like AMD still needs to do its homework. If the new FX pile drivers still give you a lag for 30 fps but its huge improvement over my FX. No wonder my fx 4170 is hurting.

Dude, it is so easy to learn simple OCing. Don't cop out into paying extra money for a higher clock speed that you could do yourself simply for free!
That's not true OCN nature!

Get the FX-8320, spend an hour or so researching simple overclocks (literally just increasing the multiplier with a friendly BIOS) and enjoy your FX-8350 performance for cheaper!

Or, even better, if you have the money, do the better thing and hard swap to Intel. I'm not AMD bashing, it's not wrong to want better performance thumb.gif

Honestly, you will NOT regret paying the extra shiny dime now for the Intel swap - even if it's just to a locked i5, it'll go better than any PD chip.
