How to format a ssd for reinstall of windows 7 - Page 2

yhe ive just gone in to the motherboard cd and click the chipset driver and it came up with the ccc install, i click custom and then it came up with what was installed. it says ahci driver and it the same driver version so it must of done it for me when i auto searched. i didn`t know it was so easy to switch between ide and ahci like that, thank you you saved me a day of installing windows 7 smile.gif

do i need to update the ahci driver everytime amd bring one out or can i stick with the amd motherboard driver ?

As long as it works you probably don't need to worry about updating the driver. I doubt AMD updates it very often anyway.

hi there me again

can i install steam on my hard drive and not install it on my ssd drive which is the c drive? will the games work ok ?

also will games like batman arkham city work ok on my hard drive while games for windows is on the ssd ?

i am going to try and only install my online games like wow on the ssd

i would like to install all my games other than the online ones on my other hard drive really.

Yes to all of the above. I do the same thing - keep my online games on the SSD, everything else on the HDD(s).

Check out Steam Mover - it is a free program that seamlessly moves Steam games back and forth between a SSD and another hard drive - so you can always keep the games you are currently playing on the SSD with the others on the HDD.
