SSD in RAID

Thread Starter
Just picked up a second crucial 128 m4 was running out of space for my games.
Is there any benefit from configuring them in RAID 0 vs just using the as two separate drives
This is for a new build so I will be wiping the first anyway

Yes, it's double the speed and for operating systems it is especially great. Make sure to select a rather low block size when configuring the disks in the controller bios because os's need lower sizes. I would backup all data from time to time because if one of them fails then the data on both of them is lost.

Too bad RAID for the OS really won't make a difference with SSDs.

I had a few in RAID 0 a while and there is almost no difference.

However, it is great if you like dealing with single volumes and transfer large amounts of data on and off the drive often. smile.gif
