Questions about Intel 520 SSD

Thread Starter
What is the difference between the Intel 520 SSDSC2CW120A310 and the Intel 520 SSDSC2CW120A3K5.

According to Linus over at NCIX, the Intel 520 seems to have pretty close to matching reads and writes. Which is what I am looking for in an SSD. I don't want one to be dramatically faster than the other.

Packaging and warranty. K5 is the retail kit and comes with a 5-year warranty. The OEM version comes with 5 year warranty or until the Media Wearout Indicator reaches 1 (or was it 10 normalized?), whichever comes earlier. I think you also get brackets, sata cable and screws with the retail kit.

According to every other test with SandForce drives and ATTO they all have similar read and write speeds with uncompressed data. So why spend so much on a 120GB SandForce drive when you can get a similar one for about half the price? (Kingston Hyper X and a few other SandForce drives were $60 - $70 multiple times already)

agility 3: this drive is not in the same category as the others as it has slower asynchronous NAND, but look! It has the same speeds with uncompressed data! lol
