ASUS makes a decent budget IPS as well

I would probably take the ASUS over the LG, they tend to have better monitors these days.

These cheap IPS options are all pretty much using the same LG eIPS panels, almost all with the antiglare coating. I'm sure you can figure out the stand adjustments and display inputs (HDMI, DVI, etc.) on your own, so...

All of these pretty much have no features, so input lag is low. Some models, like that IPS234, don't seem to have proper overdrive, so the pixel responsiveness is not as good as other models like the Dell Ultrasharps and Asus VS229H-P / VS239H-P (linked above) / VG23AH / etc. If you're playing fast games, you want something with better responsiveness.

See here (in German):

I have these requirements:

-HDMI, DVI, VGA
-Can be mounted
-cable lock optional

I think Asus VS239H is a good option.

This are the things i commonly do:

movies
games
web
editing pictures,videos
rendering

I know if its for gaming it can tackle everything or almost.

On second thought, I was wrong a few months ago.

Some of the newer ones like IPS234, IPS237, MX239 have the AH-IPS panels, not eIPS. I think.

VS239H (not VS239H-P) is probably too slow for gaming. Considering prices, between those I would try the IPS234V as long as you are okay with some blurring during fast motion in movies and games (VS239H would be even worse there).

If they are at the store and you can look at them, could you maybe check and report on how heavy the antiglare coating is on these? Supposedly some of the AH-IPS models have a little bit lighter antiglare, though they're still matte.

I am in the same boat as you.

Currently I am looking at the Dell U2412M and Asus PA248Q, you can find them ~$275 These are 24" monitors though..

This is the one I currently own. It's not a bad monitor at all. If you're on a budget I don't think it gets much better. The stand is very flimsy though. If shake the table the monitor wobbles. Only complaint.
