Battlefield 1942 patches

I installed my copy of BF1942 today after EA made it free. Basically I remembered all the good times and want to experience it once more. I installed the base game and the two addons.

However there are tonnes of patches and I'm sure they are all not required. So what patches have you installed to the game? I remember only having to install 3 patches to get the game to the latest version last time and I'm certain that it will not have changed. However I cannot find the list.

Any input is appreciated.

TL:DR; version numbers of patches to get game to latest patch.

Apparently the Free version released in 2012, is a different version number then the Oldskool cd-rom version.

Even if you update to the latest patch, its still not compatible online.

You are better of to download Origin, make a account, and download the free version.
Its also possible to install mods like Desert Combat on the Origin version.

And it has lots and lots of servers/players thumb.gif
