The PS3 does not render all games at 1080p. Thats a huge misconception. Its up to the game developer to decide, and most games you find on the PS3 will run at 720p and be upconverted to 1080p.


And if you ask me, the 360 version looks like it makes the best use of shadows. Look at the detail of shading on the guys face in the 360 version, while in the PS3 version his face is pretty much uniform brightness. Shadow processing has always been a weakness in the NV47/G70 architecture, which is what is used in the PS3's RSX. ATI's R5xx architecture performs shadow calculations very well, which is why you can see better shadow detail in the 360 version.

ps3 + x360 look the same except somebody turned the brightness/gamma up on the ps3 version. Done.

ahaha.

The Wii and the PS3 have the advantage though....

The PS3 can display and doesnt blow up 720p to 1080p. If you compare the images and you dont look at the shading with shadows and highlights (the images are to different in brightness, gamma and contrast) the PS3 version looks slightly better in the very little details (duh its more powerfull).

Your architecture differences argument doesnt apply to COD3 since the game doesnt use any of the consoles at max. Its made in probably C++ and then compiled to fit the consoles, thus not making full use of the consoles like single-console titles and thus it doesnt make full use of the shading capacities of the machines.

actually the 360 had 1080p support added by the fall update a couple weeks ago and its native too not upscaled BUT the developers must make it so halo3 will be the first i have heard.

I'm with the previous posts for the "nunchuckability." When I'm engrossed in a game, I'm not going to notice shadows around the corners of someone's mouth, or difference between the HD outputs. I will notice, however, if I'm stuck sitting on my butt twiddling thumbs or jumping around the living room melee bashing Nazis.

ALmost all games out right now are native 720p. SO this on the 360 or PS3 will be done in 720p. If either console is set to 1080p it will be upconverted.

Also these are not the same frame. I'd also like to see the pics in the native resolutions. That would be a fair comparason.

Yeah seriously, I was worried when I got my 360 that I might not be able to get a PS3 or Wii, haha not any more, 360 is the one I would've chosen if I had to buy a console today.

1st thing= The wii has just been launched , and it wasn't delayed for a year like PS3 , so those aren't the top graphics she makes, and it is a pc converted to console game
2nd thing= I think the 360 screenie looks the best
3rd thing= i just put three points because it's nore logical and powerful........Jk

360 runs 1080i...

And yes, the Wii looks liek crap, but that's why I have a PC. The Wii looks to be more fun than the other 2, but that's just me.

I disagree, I believe that there are no noticeable differences between the XBOX360 and the PS3 versions apart from the Gamma, XBOX 360 is darker disguising the detail, If you equal the brightness in photoshop they are equal....
