It's one thing to say that the Wii's graphics are the worst of the three; but saying that Nintendo made a "big mistake" by intentionally opting for the lower end graphics is heading into different conversation territory. As in, the fact that the graphics are lower powered directly maps to lower hardware costs. And lo and behold, the bargain basement price point has helped catapult the Wii to being the hottest Xmas gift of the season.
Need more convincing? The PSPs graphics capabilities are vastly superior to the DS's. No one will even debate that point. Checked out the sales figures lately? The DS totally owns the handheld space. I would be surprised if we ever see a PSP2, Sony got whupped so bad. By an "inferior" machine.
Based on early sales and reaction to the Wii, I am convinced now more than ever that my autumn prediction of the Wii being the #1 console this time around will actually take place. Seriously. Everyone wants to play it...my mom
wants to play it, and that's just crazy talk from a 54 year old woman. And all this despite inferior graphics.
Big mistake? No, I think not.
