The Antec 300 is a great case, but it's quite an old design.

I'm still using my old Antec 300, and I've rebuilt the setup inside the case about three times so far. I've even cleaned a spider nest out of this case after I had stopped using it for about six months. It's a solid case, which is why it's lasted so long.

Still, it doesn't have very effective or accessible air filtering, it doesn't have the best cable management, it has awful noise proofing - in fact the case itself can cause noise unless you modify it or tweak some parts of it, and doesn't have tool-less mounting.

I built someone a rig using this case and it would make a vibrating sound when turned on unless you applied pressure to the top of the case. Pretty annoying.
There's fixes posted all over the internet. If you can fix the noise issue, it's a very nice case.

I agree its not the latest greatest case but at this price you'd be hard pressed to find one as good as this. I've built a few budget rigs and used a few different cases in this price range and none of them were as sturdy as my three hundred. In my own rig I cut a few holes in the mobo tray and it made cable managment much better. My top panel also buzzed but a little strip of dynamat fixed that.

^ Corsair 200r is a better bet, it comes painted inside, has USB 3.0, SSD mount...and right now it comes with a free 120mm Corsair fan worth ~$20.

AFAIK the Antec 300 original had issues with space behind the motherboard tray, lack of PSU filter, & no cable routing holes. Also, if you have a long GPU (>11" it won't fit), grab something else. The Antec 300 Two has space for 12.5" long GPUs, the Corsair 200R has space for 16.9" long ones.
