Noctua NH-D14 , will my mobo handle the weight?

Thread Starter
I've done quiet some research on which cpu cooler to choose , i've looked at a bunch of closed loop watercoolers like the H60 , H80 , Thermaltake 2.0 performer , but i really decided to go with the Noctua NH-D14 air cooler for my cpu ( mainly because im a noise freak and i like my coolers to be dead silent tongue.gif). But my main problem and concern is whether my motherboard will handle the massive 1.3KG weight of the Noctua or snap in two o_O!

of course it will.

noctua is one of the biggest companies in cooling. don't you think that they will measure out every senario before coming out with their flagship model?

I've only heard of one guy breaking his motherboard with a big cooler. He took it back and forth to work every day and after 6 or 8 months before it fell off of back seat when he stopped suddenly. Guess he didn't hook it's seatbelt properly. rolleyes.gif

i agree as long as you minimise transporting your case and are very careful when you do move it then it'll be fine.... cannot rep this cooler enough thumb.gif , it dropped my load temps by ~20C....best $99 i have probably spent..

Mobo will be fine. You will be surprised at how strong a logic board is. Unless you plan on dropping you rig, I wouldn't be worried too much.
