I'm looking for a dirt cheat, reliable psu for a low power system. Is there anything in particular that I should be looking at?

$5 Promo with $20 MIR to make it $19.99

I wouldn't get the CM Elite though, as it's not a reliable PSU.

When they say rebate card is like a Newegg gift card that comes in the box with the psu or a normal rebate with all of the strings attached? I really can't stand mail in rebates.

It's a typical mail-in-rebate with all the nonsense.

If I had one of those I would throw it out before putting it in a system. One of Cooler Masters old deceptively labelled units. Not even a decent 400W model. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Cooler-Master-Elite-Power-460-W-Power-Supply-Review/1005/1

As mentioned elsewhere in the thread, the newly updated 80+ Bronze CX430 is pretty much the best bet for a low budget unit, coming in at $40 before rebate.

If you can afford a little more Newegg has the Rosewill Capstone 450 Gold-rated semi-modular psu for about 70 bucks. Just got one and it will be powering a 3770K with a 7950 gpu, Capstone is a very highly rated series made by FSP. If you can`t afford this get the Corsair and avoid the CM psu. thumb.gif

Nothing less than this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026

If you ask me if you're spending below $50 on a PSU it's probably a disaster waiting to happen, with the exception of the Corsair one I linked you.
